Intestinal Diseases

Not all patients with intestinal failure need intestinal transplantation surgery. Other treatments for intestinal failure include intravenous nutrition (TPN) and restoring intestine function through intestinal rehabilitation.

However, intestinal transplantation surgery may be the treatment of choice for intestinal failure when intestine function cannot be restored or when TPN no longer works or has led to liver failure or other complications.
