Acute liver failure:
- Fulminant hepatic failure
- Acute hepatitis, including infectious A, B and C viruses
Chronic liver failure:
- Chronic hepatitis B and C
- Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency
- Biliary atresia
- Cirrhosis
- Cystic fibrosis liver disease
- Primary sclerosing cholangitis
Tumors:
- Hepatoblastoma
- Hepatocellular carcinoma
Metabolic disorders:
- Familial intrahepatic cholestasis
- Wilson’s disease
- Glycogen storage disease
